Law breakers? Not in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, says a federal appeals court. On January 31, eight of 11 justices approved a ruling which stated that having a single director of the agency, as opposed to a commission, does not violate the constitution, which overturned an earlier court ruling that stated the opposite. This means that the president can only fire a CFPB director "for cause" and not at will.
