Banks are getting serious about their digital transformation strategies. $87.8 billion-asset bank BBVA Compass in Birmingham, Alabama reported double-digit increases in direct consumer loans and credit card lending over the past 12 months. Overall, net income increased 73% to $208.7 million for the quarter. Additionally, active mobile banking users increased by 30%. BBVA Compass President and CEO Onur Genç stressed that digital innovation will be a priority for the company. Recently, she said, "Clearly, our digital transformation strategy is working and seeing our strategy come to life provides us the drive to continue meeting and exceeding our customers' expectation for amazing experiences."
